Summary

This program provides insight into fear as an emotion. It endeavors to bring an understanding of fears in the preschool age. It goes all the way from body awareness and recognition of fear, through understanding thoughts and actions in relation to the fear we experience. One of the most important aspects that the program reflects on is the acknowledgement of children’s fears no matter how silly or irrational they might seem to adults. The program also explores the use of comfort objects, exposure, problem-solving, and exercising through pretend play.

The entire program is designed and presented as a one-day training for professionals, teachers and/or parents of children aged 4-6 years old.
