Summary
This program provides an overview of what anxiety is and ways to teach children how to recognize it in everyday life and cope effectively. It goes from recognizing how anxiety manifests, through dealing with thoughts, all the way to relaxation exercises and problem-solving techniques.
The program provides a range of creative and child-friendly ways of coping. It is designed as a one-day training for mental health professionals, teachers and/or parents but can be used in direct work with children through individual workshops and activities.
Knowledge and skills you will gain:
- Supporting strengths and personal capacities.
- Understanding and recognizing signs and manifestations of anxiety.
- Expressing anxiety.
- Exploring children’s thoughts and worries.
- Exploring and adopting different techniques and actions that decrease anxiety.
- Adopting control-taking and future-planning steps.

- 23 different exercises within four workshops
- one-day training agenda
- list of required materials
- evaluation form
- printable worksheets for exercises
