Summary

Adolescence is a turbulent period in which teens explore and develop emotional and social competence. In this period, they are learning to perceive, assess, and manage their own emotions while they are focused on building their capacity to be sensitive and effective in relation to others, including their friends, family, girlfriends and boyfriends and other adults in their lives.

Healthy relationships require effort, attention, and involvement. Building healthy relationships in the teenage years with parents, peers, and teacher sets the foundation for many challenges in all aspects of life arriving in the future.
