Summary
Psychologists define resilience as the process of adapting well to threats, stressful situations, trauma, loss, family and relationship problems, serious health problems, or many other situations. According to the APA Help Center, it’s “the process of adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats, or significant sources of stress”. Resilience is more than just the ability to adapt, and cope with everyday challenges. It is the capability to seek new ways to overcome these challenges and achieve goals.
